Shared drafts, marked-up PDFs and calls that stay with you

The September update brings more of the work around a document into the workspace: write together, mark up a PDF, share it in a DM and keep the conversation going.

Shared drafts, marked-up PDFs and calls that stay with you

Since our 8 September update, Polybase has added shared document editing, PDF annotations and new ways to keep calls close while you work. This roundup covers changes merged from 8 to 19 September, alongside improvements to Email, Calendar, spreadsheets and Polyspace.

In the web and desktop editors, teammates can now edit the same document paragraph and see one another’s cursors. Native documents and already-imported DOCX content use the shared editing flow; a newly uploaded DOCX first goes through import and save. Wiki pages also support concurrent text editing, with version history and undo that follows your own edits.

Uploaded PDFs in Drive can now be marked up with text, images, freehand drawing and highlights, then saved back as PDF annotations. In-document search finds and highlights text in PDFs, text previews and wiki pages, while the document header also opens presentation search. Drive can share documents directly into personal conversations, and the compact channel-and-folder picker makes moving a file or saving an email attachment easier.

On desktop, floating call bubbles keep participants and controls nearby when you switch away from the app. Screen sharing keeps the call surface available, and notification sounds and pop-ups are held while you present. Shared channel and direct-call links can bring external guests into a waiting lobby; a member in the call decides who joins.

Email search now suggests people, subjects, attachments and labels, with editable filter chips. You can add a booking link from the composer with a few proposed times and close it after one booking; calendar clashes are flagged before you send. Rich signatures, attachment indicators and saving attachments to Drive keep more of the follow-up in one place.

There is more across the workspace: presentation design and layer tools, bulk spreadsheet row and column actions, related tasks across channels, and independent Pixel and Atelier layouts in Polyspace. Passkey sign-in is available in supported browsers, with existing MFA checks still applied. Mobile adds the Clean theme, channels and people in global search, and improved mail and call controls. The changelog lists the dated details.
